Steven Minnis, Current President of Benedictine College, Featured in Column in Kansas City Business Journal
Atchison, KS (PREWEB) June 27, 2008 -- Steven Minnis has future plans for his alma mater, Benedictine College, according to weekly Kansas City Business Journal columnist, Michael Braude. In his column, Braude writes about Minnis' career and life experiences and what influenced him to work for Benedictine College, in Atchison, Kansas.
According to the column, Minnis much experience in the law industry, as he was assistant Johnson County prosecuting attorney and, later on, doing regulatory and litigation work for Sprint Corp.'s legal staff. The column also says that Minnis eventually became president of Benedictine's national alumni association.
The column also talks about Minnis's many achievements that seemed to have benefited Benedictine College. For example, according to Braude, Minnis led a campaign that raised eight million dollars in four months for a new academic student center at Benedictine College. Additionally, 2007 was the year in which Benedictine college was named one of "America's Best Colleges," by U.S. News and World Report. According to the column, during Minnis's first year as Benedictine College's president, enrollment statistics are the highest they have ever been in school history.
"It works because I love this place," said Minnis of being the college's president. "Benedictine speaks to me. I came because I want to make a difference in young people's lives."
